Never Stop Prospecting!

Real estate prospecting is one of the best ways to generate more real estate leads. It is time consuming, but is the #1 Action step as an agent you should do every day!

WHAT IS PROSPECTING

In real estate, prospecting is simply trying to find someone who wants to sell or buy property.

HOW DO YOU PROSPECT?

There are a multitude of real estate prospecting methods, including phone calls, mailing post cards, door-to-door visits, social media marketing, community events or just hanging out with friends. The list goes on and on. You can’t do them all, but experiment and you will discover the most effective tactics you should be taking. It’s important to remember, everything you do has prospecting potential. For example, if you are at one of your kids sporting events ask the other parents if they know anyone interested in buying or selling. You might be surprised. Attend a workout class, hand out cards and ask the same question, “Do you know anyone interested in Buying or selling?” Phone prospecting is a great prospecting tactic. Put it into your strategy, but make sure you don’t call those on Do-not-call lists. You can call friends and acquaintances.

There are books written on prospecting. READ THEM!

STICK TO A SCHEDULE.

This is a key point. If your tactic is to call 50 people Monday through Friday, 10 a day is easier than 25 a day on Thursday and Friday. The secret is to prioritize prospecting on a daily basis. Focus on direct prospecting 2 to 3 hours each day and continue to prospect as opportunity presents itself throughout the day. Treat prospecting time as your most important appointment and do it every day!
